Overseas Vietnamese (OVs) in Russia closely followed the elections on May 22, believing the 13th National Assembly will comprise of deputies who actually represent the voice of the entire people, including OVs.
President of the Vietnamese People Association in Russia Do Xuan Hoang told Vietnam News Agency reporters that Vietnamese expatriates in Russia hoped the new parliament would make new laws to advance the nation on the path of national industrialisation and modernisation, thereby realising the target of turning Vietnam into an industrialised country by 2020.
They also wished that the 13th legislature will adopt policies to promote the Vietnam-Russia strategic partnership and support the solidarity and stable development of the Vietnamese community in Russia.
