PANO - As many as 260 poor students who had surmounted difficulties to achieve good academic records in the two provinces of Hau Giang and Soc Trang were presented with scholarships, valued at a total of VND 520 million, by the National Fund for Vietnamese Children (NFVC) in the new academic year of 2015-2016 on September 14th and 15th.

Attending the scholarship handover ceremony were Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan, Chairwoman of the NFVC Sponsorship Council, leaders of Hau Giang and Soc Trang provinces and representatives from the two province’s organizations and sponsors.
The scholarships were to reward poor but hard-working students and to encourage them to achieve even better results in the new academic year.
In 2012, 150 such scholarships, worth VND 3 million each, were granted to impoverished students with good academic outcomes in Soc Trang province and another 100 students in Hau Giang province benefited from the scholarships.
