PANO – A ceremony to mark the 85th founding anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union was held in Hanoi on March 25th in the presence of former and present Party and State leaders.

At the ceremony, First Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee (HCYUCC) Nguyen Dac Vinh affirmed that Vietnamese youths are proud of the glorious tradition of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, absolutely loyal to the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and have voluntarily carried out missions in difficult areas. All of the young people thoroughly grasp their responsibility in the national construction and defence cause and the process of international integration.

On behalf of the Party and State, Politburo member and permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Dinh The Huynh congratulated the Vietnamese youths on their day and praised their efforts and contributions to the nation.

At the ceremony, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee honoured and granted the Ly Tu Trong Award 2016 to 86 cadres of youth organisations and youths in acknowledgement of their contributions and effective initiatives to the development of youths’ activities.

* The same day, the President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan visited the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee. He said that over the past 85 years, generations of youths have boosted the tradition and promote studying to devote themselves to the national construction and defence cause and international integration process. The VFF President believed that the Vietnamese youth will successfully bring the 12th National Party Congress’s Resolution into life and make further contributions to the development of the nation in the new context.

* Ho Chi Minh City’s Youth Committee has marked the important day of the Vietnamese youth and presented the Ho Hao Hon Awards 2016 to 6 outstanding groups with initiatives which have been successfully put into practice. The participants expressed their joy over the achievements and contributions of the youths of the city over the past time and affirmed that many activities proved their effectiveness, contributing to the development of the city.

* The Youth Committee of Military Zone 9 has held various activities for their youths, such as offering incense at the Commemorative Area of President Ton Duc Thang, providing free health check-ups, medicine, and gifts to needy people and policy beneficiaries, conducting a sports exchange with locals, and holding a contest on the tradition of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.

Outstanding troops honoured

* The Hanoi Capital Command hosted a seminar with the participation of 430 young officers. At the event, the participants frankly pointed out weaknesses of youths and difficulties confronting them as well as put forward guidelines and measures to help young officers to promote their capability.  

* Youth Committees of the Signal Officers Training School, the military-run telecom group Viettel’s branch in Khanh Hoa and Military Bank’s branch in Khanh Hoa province signed an agreement to boost their coordinating activities. Accordingly, these youth committees will cooperate in disseminating and mobilising youths to strengthen defence-security and ensure political stability and public order, and promoting culture and sports exchanges.

* The Ho Chi Minh City Command honoured 66 outstanding youths while Military Zone 7’s Party Committee and Command acknowledged the contributions of 85 youths.
