The information was announced by Mai Phan Dung, Deputy Head of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs, at a press briefing in Hanoi on December 28.

Mr. Mai Phan Dung said that the program shows the Vietnamese people and expats’ confidence in the leadership of the Party and State and the Party’s guidelines and State’s policies on  building, operating, managing, and developing the country, helping the nation obtain strong and sustainable development and overcome difficulties and challenges.

During the program, overseas Vietnamese will participate in incense offering, carps release, pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh and heroic martyrs, meet with Party and State leaders, and enjoy Vietnam cuisine festival.

Notably, an artistic exchange will be held and broadcast live on the Vietnam Television channels 1 and 4 (VTV1, VTV4) and digital platforms, namely TV online, VTV Go, and mobile apps. At the event, participants will enjoy special artistic performances and listen to New Year wishes from the State President. 

Apart from main parts, the Homeland Spring program 2023 features various sidelines activities, including a talk between the National Assembly Committee for Foreign Affairs and outstanding overseas Vietnamese on policies for Vietnamese living abroad; a meeting with leaders of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee and a ceremony to honor outstanding overseas Vietnamese; “Happy Tet 2023” Spring Festival with investment, trade, tourism promotion activities in Hanoi.

The highlight of the program will be a carp release ceremony chaired by the State President.
