Speaking at the opening ceremony, Nguyen Trung Kien, Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs, said the course is a practical initiative to implement Politburo Resolution No.23-NQ/TW, dated August 2, 2026, on overseas Vietnamese affairs. He emphasized the importance of practical, learner-centered teaching methods tailored to students' ages, language environments, and community conditions. Stories, games, songs, cultural activities, and familiar communication situations should be incorporated to encourage students' interest and confidence in using Vietnamese.

Regarding digital technology and artificial intelligence, he stressed that these tools should be used selectively, responsibly, and in support of educational goals, while teachers' ability to inspire and their love of the Vietnamese language remain essential. He also called for greater sharing of teaching materials, continued professional networking after the course, and more opportunities for participants to exchange experiences and discuss challenges in applying teaching methods in overseas communities.
