A training course on Vietnamese language has been launched in Berlin, Germany for Vietnamese children in the country.
The opening ceremony drew the participation of Consular-General Dang Tran Cu from the Vietnamese Embassy in Germany, representatives from local agencies, many children and their parents.
According to Hoang Lien, Head of the Vietnamese Woman Association and organiser of the programme, only 26 children took part in the initial course. However, within one year, more than 100 children are expected to be studying at four courses.
The students are mainly children of overseas Vietnamese people and local residents.
Addressing the ceremony, Consular-General Dang Tran Cu highlighted the acheivements of the organizers, teachers and pupils in preserving the Vietnamese cultural identity.
On this occasion, outstanding students were presented certificates of merit.
