Wartime bomb safely detonated in Nghe An province
PANO - On May 31, Long Son ward’s Military Command, in coordination with the Engineering Team of the Nghe An provincial Military Command and Thai Hoa town’s Military Command, detonated a 340kg bomb left from the war with absolute safety.
Reportedly, at 17:00 on May 29, Pham Van Long, from Long Son ward, Thai Hoa town, detected a bomb left from the war while making fishing nets at the Hieu River. He then reported to functional organs.

After receiving the information, Thai Hoa town’s Military Command sent forces to the scene. They recognized it as a bomb left over from the war and was located on the river about 50 to 80cm under the water surface. The unit then reported to local authorities and leaders at all levels and informed local people, and sent forces to safeguard the scene round the clock.
It is the 340kg bomb, 1.2m in length, and 41cm in diameter.
An engineering team of the Nghe An provincial Military Command deactivated the bomb, and together with relevant forces, move the bomb to safer place for detonation in Yen Xuan hamlet, Nghia My commune, Thai Hoa town with absolute safety.
