Senior Lieutenant General Luong Cuong, Director of the VPA’s General Department of Politics, sent a congratulatory flower bouquet to the meeting.
At the event, delegates recalled the unit’s resounding history over the past time. Notably, Division 316 was established on May 1, 1951 in Cao Loc district, Lang Son province. Its troops participated in hundreds of major campaigns and gained a number of feats of arms during the two national resistance wars against the foreign invaders as well as during its implementation of international obligation in Laos.
In peacetime, the division’s troops, under the Military Region 2 Command, have made efforts in training and combat readiness to successfully complete all assigned tasks.
For these considerable achievements, Division 316 was honored with many noble awards, orders, and certificates from the Vietnamese Party, State, and Army as well as those from the Lao People’s Army.
