Veterans of Tay Tien Regiment at the ceremony

Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai sent a floral bouquet to congratulate the regiment.

On February 27, 1947, Tay Tien Regiment No. 52 (known as Tay Tien Regiment) was founded on the basis of forces of several units under Inter-regions 2 and 3 of the Hanoi’s Front.

On its westward operation, the regiment undertook missions of combat and development of its forces to build resistance bases.

Notably, in the anti-American resistance war, Tay Tien Regiment brought on its tradition and made resounding victories in Cua Viet (Quang Tri), Kon Tum (Central Highlands), Ba To (Quang Ngai). It also took part in the General Offensive and Uprising in Spring of 1975, contributing to the complete liberation of South Vietnam.

During its fierce combats, the regiment fostered and trained a contingent of outstanding officers including well-known artists such as poet Quang Dung, painters Quang Tho and Van Da and musician Doan Quang Khai.
