The Search and Collection Team was founded on April 18, 1984 and tasked with gathering and repatriating remains of fallen troops in Nghe An province and three Lao provinces of Xiengkhouang, Vientiane, and Xaysomboun.

Over the past years, the Search and Collection Team of the Political Division under the Nghe An provincial Military Command has worked closely with Lao localities to search, collect and repatriate home remains of Vietnamese volunteer troops and advisors who sacrificed their lives in the war in Laos in a thorough and safe manner.

At the event, General Dung handed over the third-class Feat-of-Arms Order to the Search and Collection Team.

The same day, the Steering Board 515 of Nghe An province held a conference to review the search and collection of remains of fallen troops in the 2021-2022 dry season.

Reportedly, in the period, the Search and Collection Team under the Nghe An provincial Military Command has collected 103 sets of remains of fallen soldiers. In addition, the Steering Board 515 of Nghe An province has received, moved remains, and solemnly and safely organized burial services for fallen troops.

At the conference, the Nghe An provincial People’s Committee presented certificates of merit to five collectives and 10 individuals while the Nghe An provincial Military Command awarded merit certificates to six groups and 15 individuals who have obtained outstanding achievements in collecting and repatriating remains of fallen soldiers in the 2021-2022 dry season.
