At the meeting, N.A. Chairman Tran Thanh Man shared his heartfelt sentiments of meeting the veterans and contributors of Regiment 271 at the N.A. House in a meaningful time when the nation had just celebrated the 80th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army, the 35th anniversary of the Whole-People's Defense Festive Day, and was preparing to welcome the New Year 2025.

Recalling the history of Regiment 271's combat achievements, the N.A. Chairman emphasized pride in the heroic traditions made by the regiment in the struggle for national liberation. "Regiment 271 has contributed to the glorious and heroic history of our nation, our country, and our military," he affirmed.

N.A. Chairman Tran Thanh Man also updated the delegation on key achievements in Vietnam's socio-economic development in 2024. Despite numerous challenges, for the first time in over a decade, the country met and exceeded all 15 major socio-economic targets.

Highlighting the urgent tasks for the nation, he outlined efforts to streamline and restructure the political system, reorganize administrative units at the district and commune levels, focus on strategic infrastructure breakthroughs, and accelerate progress in science, technology, innovation, national digital transformation, education, and human resource development. The N.A. Chairman also stressed the importance of improving the material and spiritual well-being of the people.

Looking ahead to 2025 as a pivotal year for the country's development, N.A. Chairman Tran Thanh Man encouraged the veterans and contributors of Regiment 271 to uphold the proud tradition of "Uncle Ho's Soldiers." He called on them to be exemplary in labor, production, and efforts to build prosperous families and hometowns while contributing to national development. Furthermore, he urged them to contribute to the  national construction and defense cause, maintain local security and social order, educate the younger generation on the revolutionary tradition, and encourage their children to pursue education.

Founded in August 1971, Regiment 271 served as a key mobile force of the Tri Thien Military Region. During the fierce battles in the Tri Thien battlefield, its officers and soldiers achieved many victories. After the war, the regiment participated in post-war reconstruction in Hue City and other areas of Military Region 4, as well as fulfilling international duties in Laos.
