Addressing the event, Gen. Giang expressed his delight at welcoming the veterans. He briefed them upon domestic, regional, international situations; hostile forces’ plots, schemes, acts of sabotage; typical achievements of the military this year, the military’s missions next year; as well as activities in celebration of the 80th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army and the 35th Whole-People Defense Festive Day.

The defense chief underlined that every feat-of-arms, attainment, growth and strength of the military over the past 80 years of construction, combat, triumph, and development is marked with trust, attention of the Party and State, love and support of the people, and close coordination from ministries, sectors, departments, including the Vietnam Veterans’ Association Central Committee.

He highlighted the association’s cooperation in organizing activities and especially its suggestions, with the CMC and MND, to the Party and State to issue military and defense policies and strategies and to fight against hostile forces’ wrongful and distorted arguments to depoliticize the military.

He expressed deep thanks to the association’s incumbent and former leaders and its members for their contribution to the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party, the national construction and defense and military building and defense consolidation.

He hoped that they will continue to pay attention to the CMC and MND and become a source of encouragement to the military to victoriously complete their missions in 2025 and following years as well as achieve goals set at the 11th Military Party Congress and the 13th National Party Congress, contributing to the era of the nation’s rise.

President of the association Sr. Lt. Gen. Be Xuan Truong thanked the CMC and MND for their care and support to the association and generations of Vietnamese veterans. He said that members of veterans’ association al all levels are determined to build a strong association with competent members, beautifying the glorious tradition of the association and the heroic Vietnam People’s Army.
