Memorial service for remains of soldiers repatriated from Laos
Authorities of the central province of Thua Thien-Hue on May 7 held a memorial service for remains of 18 Vietnamese voluntary soldiers and experts who laid down their lives in Laos during wartime.
The remains were repatriated by repatriation team 192 of the Thua Thien-Hue Military Command in seven months of the 2018-2019 dry season in Salavan and Sekong provinces of Laos.
Speaking at the ceremony, representatives of Thua Thien-Hue and Salavan provinces said the two countries will always bear in mind the contributions of Vietnamese soldiers to the revolutionary cause. Their contributions also tightened the solidarity and special friendship between the Parties, States and people Vietnam and Laos, they said.
Afterwards, a ceremony to rebury the remains was held at Hue city’s Martyr Cemetery.
