The meeting reviewed the coordination on preparing for the one-month-long exhibition, which is scheduled to open on May 28 under the direction of the VAVA Central Committee, the Bac Giang provincial People’s Committee, and the Chemical Corps, and the joint organization of the provincial Association for Victims of Agent Orange (AO)/Dioxin, the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, NACCET, the Division of Political Affairs under Military Region 1, the Chemical Corps Museum, and other units.

An overview of the meeting

It is a practical activity to mark the 50th anniversary of the South Liberation and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - 2025), the 64th anniversary of the Agent Orange Disaster in Vietnam (August 10, 1961 - 2025), and the 20th founding anniversary of Bac Giang provincial Association for Victims of AO/Dioxin.

The meeting confirmed that functional agencies and units have closely and effectively coordinated to make preparations for the exhibition. Up to date, captions and explanations for more than 300 photos and over 100 documents and objects have been basically completed.

In addition, the dissemination work about the AO Disaster, the settlement of AO consequences, gratitude activities, and calls for joint efforts to ease AO pain have been intensified. Moreover, more than VND 850 million has been raised to present gifts, gratitude houses, and other support to AO victims and their families.

In his speech, Lt. Gen. Nguyen Huu Chinh asked agencies and units to continue their preparation work and organize the exhibition according to schedule. He also requested them to team up with press agencies to boost dissemination before and during the event to attract more viewers to the exhibition and to have more practical gratitude activities for national contributors and AO victims.
