While digging a pond, people in Bac Phong and Ngoc Hai hamlets of Bo Y commune discovered the two bombs and promptly reported to the local authorities and the Military Command of Ngoc Hoi district.

Upon receiving the information, the engineering force of the Military Command of Kon Tum province sent personnel to the site to conduct survey. 

On February 14, the engineering force, together with the Military Command of Ngoc Hoi district and the militiamen of Bo Y commune, safely transported the two bombs to a designated area for detonation.

According to the Military Command of Kon Tum province, the 350kg bomb was over one meter in length, while the 250kg bomb was nearly two meters long. Both bombs had a fatal blast radius of 360 meters, making them extremely dangerous.
