Vice Chairwoman of the VFF Central Committee Truong Thi Ngoc Anh and Deputy Political Commissar of the Vietnam Border Guard Command Major General Phung Quoc Tuan attended the event.

In 2022, the Party committee, the authorities, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tung Vai commune closely coordinated with Tung Vai Border Station and relevant agencies and units to conduct dissemination activities on the Party’s guideline and policies and the State’s laws among local people. Residents were updated with information related to the Vietnam Border Guard Law and related documents, illegal entry and exit, among others. Also the organizers promoted law dissemination and education work among teachers and students at schools in the locality.

Meanwhile, agencies, and departments of Tung Vai commune worked together with Tung Vai Border Station to conduct patrol in villages and clear areas around border and national markers; enhanced supervision at border gates to handle complicated issues in a timely manner and maintain political stability; effectively implemented the movement “All people join hands in COVID-19 pandemic control and illegal exit and entry prevention” in border areas, to name but a few.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Hang Duong Thanh, Chairman of  Quan Ba district People’s Committee praised the contribution of Tung Vai commune’s Party committee, authorities and people, as well as troops of Tung Vai Border Station, in protecting national sovereignty and border security, boosting local socio-economic development, and taking care of the material and spiritual life of local people over the past time.

In the time to come, Mr. Thanh required the district’s Party committee and authorities to continue cooperating with relevant units to accelerate information dissemination and accomplish economic, defense-security missions, contributing to building a firm all-people border defense posture while encouraging local people to actively join activities to protect and manage the border, and more.

During the event, delegates and ethnic people in Tung Vai commune played folk games together. Moreover, the Ha Giang provincial Border Guard Command provided free medical examinations and medicines for local people in the locality.

In addition, the event was an occasion for Ha Giang border guards, the People’s committees of Quan Ba district and Tung Vai commune to honor outstanding collectives and individuals for their achievements in implementing the Whole People's Border Guard Day and Prime Minister’s Directive 01.

On the occasion, the VFF Central Committee gave financial support to build five great solidarity houses for five families in Tung Vai and Cao Ma Po communes; presented 10 gifts to 10 households in Tung Vai commune. The Vietnam Border Guard Command handed over 20 gifts to families in Cao Ma Po commune, 20 gifts to disadvantaged students in Tung Vai commune. The Ha Giang provincial Party Committee granted savings books to 21 children adopted by 12 border stations across the province. The provincial Border Guard Command provided 20 gifts to families in Ta Van commune and two sponsors presented 200 warm clothes to students and 30 gifts to poor families in three border communes.
