Particularly, the command handed over more than VND 100 million to 204 Lao officers who will study at different military academies and schools of the Vietnam People’s Army in 2020.

On the same day, the Preventive Medicine Team of Military Region 4 took samples from the officers to send them to the Center for Tropical Disease for COVID-19 testing.

After completing the 14-day quarantine time, all the officers will move to academies and schools of the Vietnam People’s Army for their studies.

Vietnamese units present gifts to Lao troops.

Speaking at the event, Major General Ha Tan Tien hoped that all 204 officers of the Laos People’s Army will overcome all difficulties while staying in Ha Tinh University and cooperate with troops of the military region to fulfill the quarantine time.

On the same day, Na Loi Border Post of the Nghe An provincial Border Guard Command collaborated with the leadership of Na Loi commune of Ky Son district to hand over gifts to troops of the Border Guard Platoon in Huoi Lom village under Border Guard Company 223 of Laos’ Xiengkhuang provincial Military Command.

The gifts include rice, instant noodles, soft drinks, hand sanitizer liquid, face-masks, and face covers, worth VND 8 million in total.

On the occasion, the two sides exchanged information related to national sovereignty and border security protection as well as COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control.

They agreed to regularly exchange information, conduct joint patrols along the shared borderline, and cooperate to combat illegal immigration. These joint activities aim to prevent COVID-19 and protect peace along the Vietnam-Laos borderline.

On the occasion, leaders of Na Loi visited and presented gifts to personnel working at temporary checkpoints by Na Loi Border Post.
