Troops respond to consequences of storm Rai
PANO - Due to the impact of Rai, the ninth storm this year in the East Sea (South China Sea), rising sea levels and flood tides were posing a significant threat to residents in Ward 6, Tuy Hoa city, Phu Yen province at night of December 19.

Informed about the situation, the Phu Yen provincial Military Command and Border Guard Command mobilized nearly 200 officers and soldiers to rush to the scene to evacuate local residents and their property to safe places.
In addition, the joint force used hundreds of sand bags to build a 50m dyke. Ms. Le Thi Hoa from Ward 6 (Tuy Hoa city, Phu Yen province) expressed her deep thanks to the soldiers for supporting the locals in response to the natural disaster.
Reportedly, prior to the storm, the Phu Yen provincial Military Command actively deployed their troops and prepared necessary equipment on standby to carry out assigned tasks as requested.
According to the locals, this was one of the largest flood tides in the city over the past recent years.
