The Quoc Oai district Military Command mobilized 15 officers, soldiers and militiamen to cooperate with on-site forces to put out a fire on August 29.

This information was announced by Senior Colonel Pham Hai Chau, Deputy Director of the Department of Search and Rescue under the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army.

Accordingly, the fire broke out at around 4:40 on August 29 at two shops selling barbecue supplies and household appliances in Phuong Cach commune, Quoc Oai district, Hanoi city, covering an area of 600 sq.m. At 6:30, the fire was successfully extinguished.

* At 9:30 on the same day, a forest fire broke out in Hamlet 1, Nghi Cong Nam commune, Nghi Loc district, Nghe An province, covering 1.5 hectares of pine forest.

After receiving the information, the Nghi Loc district Military Command immediately sent nearly 50 troops and militiamen to work with on-site forces to stamp out the fire. The fire was put under control at 10:30.

* To pro-actively respond to strong winds, high waves, and heavy rains in the Southern waters, the Department of Search and Rescue and the Office of National Steering Committee for Civil Defense has sent a telegram to request Military Regions 5, 7, and 9; the Naval and Air Defense – Air Force Services; the Vietnam Border Guard and Coast Guard Commands; Army Corps 18; coastal provinces and cities from Da Nang to Kien Giang to regularly monitor and closely follow weather developments at sea; get forces and vehicles ready for timely response to arising issues and effectively address them, ensuring safety of agencies, units, and on-duty forces.
