Thousands of fishermen benefited from “Coast guards stand by fishermen” model
PANO – The Naval Region 4 Command has reviewed the implementation of the mass mobilization model, “Coast guards stand by fishermen”, in 2017 and 2018 in Phu Quoc district, Kien Giang province.
Accordingly, troops of the Naval Region 4, in association with Tho Chau island commune of Phu Quoc district, An Son island commune of Kien Hai district, and Rach Goc town of Ca Mau province’s Ngoc Hien district hosted information dissemination programs for around 5,500 cadres, locals, and students and delivered 6,000 leaflets on what fishermen should know while going fishing at sea to fishermen.
In addition, coast guard units also provided financial assistance to three needy students with good academic records, presented bicycles, gifts, and scholarships to students, and handed over national flags, medical kits, life buoys and life jackets to national contributors and fishermen.
