Retired senior officers in the North gather in Hanoi
PANO - The Central Military Commission, Ministry of National Defense on January 4 in Hanoi held a meeting in Hanoi with over 700 delegates representing senior officers in the North who are retired and no longer work for the military.
Defense Minister General Phan Van Giang chaired the meeting. The event was attended by General Luong Cuong, Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs of the Vietnam People’s Army.

The meeting was a good chance for the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense to meet the delegates and receive their constructive opinions in order to help direct cause of safeguarding the Fatherland, building the whole-people’s defense posture, and building the military in the current period.
Addressing the event, Gen. Giang briefed the delegates upon domestic, regional, and international situations, hostile forces’ plots and acts of sabotage, outstanding achievements in military and defense task performance, defense diplomacy over the past time, and orientations for 2024.
He added that the Central Military Commission, Ministry of National Defense always wish them to continue to promote Uncle Ho’s soldiers’ traditions, make more contribution to the Party’s revolutionary and the military building cause.
As the lunar New Year draws near, the defense minister wished the retired senior officers and their families success and happiness.
