* The Vietnam Border Guard Command required border units in provinces to coordinate with local authorities and the military commands of coastal provinces and cities from Quang Ninh to Phu Yen to actively and pro-actively implement measures to brace for the upcoming storm. The units fire warning flares at 22 locations according to the Government’s regulations; and notify vehicles and people about the storm’s developments and directions to avoid and escape from dangerous areas. By 13:00 on September 6, all vessels and vehicles from Quang Ninh to Quang Tri provinces had been safely anchored at the port and were strictly controlled by the localities.

Meanwhile, border guards worked with functional forces to evacuate tourists on islands to the mainland or to solid places. By the afternoon of September 6, the military had mobilized nearly 458,000 troops and more than 10,100 vehicles of all kinds to brace for the third storm.

* On the same day, a delegation of Military Region 3 (MR3), led by its Second-in-Command Major General Ha Tat Dat, inspected the prevention and control of the third storm in Van Don district, Quang Ninh province.
