Coast Guard Region 1 rescues distressed trawler
PANO - Ship 9004 of the Coast Guard Region 1 Command successfully towed a distressed trawler numbered NA 90314TS with eight fishermen aboard to Lach Quen (Quen Creek) in Quynh Luu district, Nghe An province on March 27th.

Earlier, at 14:00 on March 26, the command received a mayday signal from the trawler captained by Hoang Dinh Thanh, 36, from Quynh Luu district, Nghe An province, which was going adrift due to an engine failure about 30 nautical miles south of Bach Long Vi Island. The command sent Ship 9004 from Dong Hai port (Hai Phong city) for a rescue mission.
Despite strong winds and bad weather, the ship approached the drifting trawler and gave first aid to the crewmen at 23:45 the same day. Then, the rescue ship towed the distressed trawler with all crew-members aboard to Lach Quen of Nghe An province’s Quynh Luu district.
