Having inquired after troops’ health and their task performance over the past time, the visiting delegation acknowledged and highly appreciated their efforts in fulfilling the mission in difficult situations, leaving good impression on local people.
Reportedly, as the unit is located in pandemic-affected locality, Gia Dinh Regiment has over the past time promoted education to raise troops’ awareness of their missions and tried their best to ensure good material and spiritual life for troops during the pandemic time.
The same day, Economic-Defense Mission 778 under Military Region 7 worked with local units and benefactors to hand over 1,000 packages of necessities to people in Binh Phuoc province hard-affected by COVID-19.
This was part of the activities within the “20,000 gifts of sentiment” program co-hosted by Military Region 7 and Ho Chi Minh City’s Business Association to help local people overcome difficulties caused by COVID-19 pandemic. So far Military Region 7 and Ho Chi Minh City’s Business Association have handed over 10 tons of rice to Economic-Defense Mission 778.

In Can Tho city, a mission of the Military Region 9 Command, led by its Deputy Commissar Major General Doan Thanh Xuan, gave gifts to students of Can Tho University.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, more than 40,000 students of Can Tho University have to join online classes. Of the total, 1,200 students could not come back to their hometowns and have to live in the university’s dormitory. Learning about the situation, the command decided to present 1,200 gifts, including rice, vegetables, fruits and other necessities, to help them overcome difficulties.
Meanwhile, in Cam Ranh city of Khanh Hoa province, Air Defense Division 377 of the Air Defense - Air Force Service, offered 30 gifts to households in Cam Phuc Bac ward of Cam Ranh city. Each gift package, worth VND 250,000, includes food and necessities.
Earlier, the division had cooperated with the Military Command of Cam Ranh city to hand over 400 gifts to Cam Loi, Cam Loc and Ba Ngoi wards and Cam Thinh Dong commune of Cam Ranh city.
On September 14, a mission of the Military Region 7 Command, led by its Commanding Officer Major General Nguyen Truong Thang, worked with Bien Hoa city’s Steering Center for COVID-19 Prevention and Control and presented gifts to local people in need during the pandemic time in the city of Dong Nai province.
Similar to the above-mentioned units’ deeds, the Naval Region 1 Command on September 14 presented 10 tons of rice, worth VND 140 million, to support forces in carrying out pandemic prevention and control work.
At Military Hospital 4, Political Commissar of Army Corps 4 Lieutenant General Tran Vo Dung visited and presented gifts to encourage families of the hospital’s staff who were dispatched to reinforce Ho Chi Minh City’s COVID-19 prevention and control efforts.
On the occasion, General Dung inspected the hospital’s implementation of its models launched to support needy patients and gave gifts to 15 patients being treated at the hospital.
In an effort to support Kien Giang province’s front-line forces in the COVID-19 pandemic fight, the Ho Chi Minh City Command handed over VND 100 million and one ton of dry rations, 1,000 boxes of instant noodles, and 10,000 facemasks to the Kien Giang provincial Military Command.
