Military units review gratitude activities for national contributors
PANO - According to the Department of Policy of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, agencies and units in the whole military promoted the implementation of homefront policies and gratitude movements, the Party's guidelines, and the State's policies for national contributors, on the occasion of 72nd Wounded Soldiers’ and Martyrs’ Day (July 27),.
Notably, the Ministry of National Defense (MND) spent more than VND 5.4 billion on building 68 gratitude houses for national contributors while military units earmarked nearly VND 16 billion to build and repair 251 gratitude houses for policy beneficiaries. The whole military continues to take good care of 1,969 heroic Vietnamese mothers.

The Central Military Commission and the MND presented over 4,200 gifts to wounded and sick soldiers, martyrs’ relatives and national contributors working at military agencies and units, Agent Orange/dioxin victims, and 22 convalescent centers for national contributors.
The MND also gave equipment, worth nearly VND 9 billion, to convalescent centers for national contributors and received 15 delegations of national contributors, spent VND 200 million on supporting families of soldiers dead or wounded in action.
On the occasion of the Vietnam Wounded Soldiers’ and Martyrs’ Day, the MND also cooperated with other agencies to honor 500 exemplary war wounded and sick soldiers.
The agencies and units in the whole military also contributed nearly 31 working days to repairing and upgrading war cemeteries, offered incense and lit candles at more than 3,000 war cemeteries, visited and presented gifts, worth over VND 41 billion, to nearly 15,000 policy beneficiaries in the areas where military units are stationed, and provided free health check-ups and medicines for 52,000 needy people.
