Rice given to needy families in An Giang province

On behalf of the Party Committee and Chain-of-Command of Division 330, Colonel Nguyen Xuan Huy, the unit’s Deputy Political Chief, handed over 130 bags of rice, weighing 10kg each, to households in Tan Loi and Tan Lap communes and Chi Lang town of Tinh Bien district.

On the same day, the Quang Nam provincial Military Command handed over gifts, including cash and rice, to 46 needy officers and non-commissioned officers of the province’s armed forces.

Speaking at the meeting, Senior Colonel Nguyen Huu Thuc, the unit’s Deputy Commissar, recalled that in spite of numerous difficulties, troops from defense agencies and military units have volunteered to work in concentrated quarantine areas and maintain combat readiness duty, contributing to the community’ and the provincial armed forces’ efforts in containing the pandemic. He praised and highly appreciated the responsibility and efforts of both officers and non-commissioned officers from units under the provincial armed forces. 

Meanwhile, in Soc Trang province, the Military Command of Tran De district, Soc Trang province and local benefactors presented 4,960 kg of rice to 264 needy households in Thanh Thoi An, Thanh Thoi Thuan, Lieu Tu, Dai An 2, and Lich Hoi Thuong communes and Lich Hoi Thuong town to ease their difficulties during the pandemic.

Also on April 24, a mission of the Trade Union of the Ministry of National Defense, led by its Deputy Head Senior Colonel Nguyen Van De, presented gifts and medical supplies to different military units in Hanoi to encourage them to fulfil all assigned missions.

Accordingly, the mission handed over gifts to Army Officers Training School No.1, the Hanoi Capital Command, Thanh An Vocational Training Center, and Army Corps 11, which have received and quarantined Vietnamese citizens returning from COVID-19-hit areas.

Gifts were also given to a research team from the Military Science and Technology Institute under the Ministry of National Defense that is researching and developing a robot to help medical workers carry medical supplies in hospitals.

Earlier, the mission handed gifts to medical researchers from the Medical Research Institute under the Military Medical Academy who created a SARS-CoV-2 test kit.
