Military unit supports flood-hit families
PANO – Army Corps 15 has actively supported people in Central provinces to overcome consequences of recent flooding, said its Deputy Commander, Senior Colonel Hoang Ngoc Thanh on October 21.
Accordingly, the unit sent delegations to visit and present nearly VND 312 million to flood-hit families.
They handed over VND 90 million to 29 households and VND 66 million to 48 families of soldiers and military workers of the corps, while the remaining was to assist flood-hit victims in Attapeu province, Laos.
Earlier, the unit helped flood-hit people in Ia H’Drai district, Kon Tum province and Chu Prong district, Gia Lai province with VND 230 million and handed over eight pairs of breeding cattle, totally worth VND 200 million, to other disadvantaged people in the two provinces above.
In addition, the army corps also organized programs to provide free health checkups and medicines for local people.
