Lao students from Vietnam’s Tay Nguyen University receive gifts.

Senior Colonel Le Xuan Phuong, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the corps, and Major General Bualay Phommavong, Director of the Department of Grassroots Capacity Building under the General Department of Politics of the Lao People’s Army and Deputy Chief of the Steering Board, co-chaired the event.

At the conference, the two sides reviewed achievements after nearly a year of implementing the signed twinning agreement between the Vietnamese corps and the Lao Steering Board.

Accordingly, they regularly shared with each other situations on socio-economy, political security, social order and safety and actively created favorable conditions for each other to carry out projects in Xaysomboun province.

In particular, the corps sent cadres to Laos to help the Steering Board in the fields of agriculture and fertilizer production. They have also been studying climate and soil conditions to map out a plan for the construction of a microbiological plant in the near future.

Besides, Army Corps 15 also presented full scholarships to five students of the steering committee to study at Vietnam’s Tay Nguyen University. In turn, the Lao side also supported four scholarships to the corps’ cadres to study Lao language.

During the conference, the two sides discussed and worked out their joint programs in the coming time so as to make further contributions to the time-honored friendship and special solidarity between the two peoples and militaries.
