Military unit assists border provincial people in overcoming whirlwind consequences
PANO -The Military Command of Binh Phuoc province’s Bu Dop district and other local forces have supported Tan Thanh communal people who were badly affected by the whirlwinds at dawn on June 6.
Sudden heavy rains and whirlwinds ripped off 18 houses and destroyed hundred hectares of pepper and rubber trees in Tan Thanh commune, Bu Dop district.

Upon receiving the information, the Bu Dop district’s Military Command, and Tan Thanh Border Post of the Binh Phuoc Provincial Border Guard mobilized some 70 troops to the scene to assist locals in re-building houses, re-planting broken pepper and downed rubber trees.
According to local people, sudden whirls surprised them such that they had no time to deal with the calamity.
Nguyen Thi Lien, a resident at Tan Dinh hamlet, Tan Thanh commune said that the nearly five-minute whirlwind levelled 400 pepper stakes and blew off her house’s roof. The damage to her family is estimated at nearly VND 100 million.
Meanwhile, Di Van Hai in Tan Loi hamlet with 500 pepper stakes downed by heavy rains and whirlwinds shared that after the natural disaster happening, the local authorities and troops provided his family with valuable assistance and support.
At present, the local authorities are assessing damages to the locals and mobilizing efforts to help them overcome the whirlwind consequences. The authorities are also boosting information dissemination on preventing bad weather effects, thus minimizing human and material losses caused by natural disasters.
