On July 9, in Gia Van commune, Gia Vien district, Ninh Binh province, Military Hospital 5 checked health, gave instructions on health-care and prevention of common diseases, and offered free medicines to more than 300 victims of Agent Orange (AO)/Dioxin.
According to Senior Colonel Tran Dinh Hung, Director of the hospital, the free health check-ups and medicine-giving program for AO victims was a practical activity to help ease AO pains, brightening the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers in general, and military doctors and nurses of Military Hospital 5 in particular in the hearts of the people and the locality.
The activity was among a series of activities in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Wounded and Fallen Soldiers’ Day (July 27, 1947 - 2022)), contributing to improving health-care quality and serving as a source of spiritual encouragement for AO victims of Ninh Binh province.

Earlier, on July 8, Military Hospital 354 carried out a root-returning program in Dai Tu district, Thai Nguyen province, during which a delegation of the hospital offered incense at historical relic site July 27, War Cemetery of My Yen commune, and visited Tran Quoc Toan military infirmary relic site.
As part of the program, the hospital inaugurated and handed over a gratitude house to the family of Duong Quoc Tri, a resident in My Yen commune and an AO victim. The house was built in five months at a cost of VND 800 million, including VND 80 million contributed by the hospital.
Also in My Yen commune, the hospital presented 20 gifts to local policy beneficiaries, VND 30 million to the locality to re-issue a book on the history of the commune’s Party Organization; and had an artistic exchange with local people.
Military Hospital 354’s meaningful program in Dai Tu district aimed to promote the national tradition of “When drinking water, remember its source,” and “Gratitude,” and raise the hospital’s personnel’s responsibility to realize the Party, State, and military’s policies on troops’ family, thereby improving the spiritual and material life of wounded and sick soldiers, families of fallen troops, and national contributors.
