As evaluated by the health sector, the number of COVID-19 infected cases in Can Tho city is likely to increase in the coming time. The municipal Party Committee and People’s Committee have drawn up concrete plans to receive COVID-19 patients for treatment.
In particular, the city’s major hospitals have made thorough preparation to ensure enough beds for intensive care. Especially, the city is planning to provide the city General Hospital, Can Tho Central General Hospital with more beds to treat infected cases in critical conditions.
Previously, on December 4, 198 officers and cadets from the Military Medical University, Military Hospital 354, Military Hospital 105, Military Hospital of Traditional Medicine arrived at Can Tho International Airport to support provinces of Soc Trang, Can Tho, Tra Vinh, Kien Giang and the Logistics Department of Military Region 9 to carry out COVID-19 prevention and control missions.
Colonel Dinh Xuan Nam, Deputy Director of the Department of General Surgery under Military Hospital 354, said that the hospital medical force, including 39 officers and cadets, would assist three hospitals, namely Can Tho city General Hospital, Tuberculosis and Lung Disease Hospital, Thot Not General Hospital, in treating COVID-19 patients of the second and third levels of severity.
