Military academy collects 700 blood units during a festive day
PANO - The Air Defense - Air Force Academy and Central Military Hospital 108 co-held a voluntary blood donation festive day on March 8 in Hanoi with the participation of nearly 1,000 cadres, cadets, defense workers, and soldiers.
Recently, various blood donation drives have been postponed due to the COVID-19 epidemic, resulting in severe shortage of blood. To help ease the problem, the academy decided to organize the meaningful program.
To make the drive successful, the academy directed its medical department to closely follow the academy’s personnel’s health development and carry out a number of measures to take care of their health, ensure an absolutely safe studying and learning environment, and make sure that no one is at risk of being infected by the virus.
Health workers instructed blood donors on how to keep good hygiene during the blood-collecting process in order to guarantee the donors’ health and ensure high quality of collected blood.
With the spirit of “each blood drop donated saves a life,” the program successfully collected 700 blood units.
