Addressing the event, Political Officer of Son Tra Border Post Colonel Tran Doan Toan emphasized the significance of the program, helping border people celebrate a traditional Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday in a cozy, warm and peaceful manner.
The same day, Radar Station 59 under Regiment 291 of Division 365 of the Air Defense - Air Force Service concluded the two-day program “Safeguarding the sky in spring – Strengthening military-civilian solidarity.”
In this program, the unit gave 37 gifts to disadvantaged officers, non-commissioned officers, policy beneficiary families, impoverished students with good academic records. It also launched a tree-planting event, introduced the historic road, provided local policy beneficiary families with health check-ups and consultations, and held information dissemination session to raise ethnic communities’ awareness of fighting against hostile forces’ plots of separating the great national unity bloc.

Making banh chung together |
Other interesting activities in depth of cultural identity, such as banh chung (square sticky rice cake) making competition, cultural exchanges, fire camping, tug-of-war, were held, drawing a lot of troops and local residents.
These activities helped promote the solidarity between the military and people, and strengthen people’s trust in the Party, State and military in the new situation.
Meanwhile, from February 3 to 5, Service Dog Mobile Cluster No.4 under the Border Guard School No.24 and the Border Post of La Lay International Border Gate of the Quang Tri Provincial Border Guard Command, La Lay commune People’s Committee and a volunteer delegation from Hanoi held the “Border spring warms people’s heart” program in the commune.
