Through the program, a system of more than 30 electric poles and 300W lights, using solar energy, was installed in Chang Hai hamlet, Loc Quang commune of Loc Ninh district.

According to head of Chang Hai hamlet Lam Cam, 70% of the population of the locality is Khmer people. Local people are happy since over 1.2km out of 5km of the rural road is illuminated to facilitate locals’ travelling, contributing to ensuring local public order. This project is expected to create positive changes in the rural hamlet and serve as motivation for locals to develop domestic economy to stabilize their life.

A program held for local children in Loc Quang commune

On the occasion, Bac Sai Gon branch of MBS and Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics collaborated with Loc Quang commune of Loc Ninh district to organize a summer program for local children. At the event, the organizing panel handed over 600 gift packages of school supplies to students in the commune and held fun activities for them.

Deputy Chairman of the People’s Committee of Loc Quang Vu Van Khanh said that Loc Quang is a remote commune which is home to many ethnic minority people and has high poverty rate. He emphasized that such an activity was a great source of encouragement for local students and children and contributed to the hamlet efforts in raising the quality of the new-style rural area building.
