Troops of Regiment 95 under Division 2 become skilled builders. |
Over the past few days, resident Phan Doan from Ngan Son hamlet, Tuy An Bac commune has been busy cleaning and rearranging his belongings in his new house built with support from troops from Battalion 17 of Division 2. He shared that the historic flood in November 2025 completely destroyed his old house. His wife passed away many years ago, his two children have their own families and work far from home, and he lives alone in very difficult conditions. He thought it would take many more years for him to rebuild his house. Now, with financial support from the State and full labor support from Division 2 troops, Doan is overjoyed and proudly tells everyone that his house has been rebuilt by the State and the military. “It is beautiful and solid. This Lunar New Year, not only can my family celebrate Tet in a warm new house, but from now on I no longer have to fear storms and floods,” he said.
When her old house was completely damaged by floods, elderly Dang Thi Thu Ha from Tan Binh hamlet, Dong Xuan commune was absolutely devastated, as she could not afford to rebuild it. Upon learning that the State would provide funding and troops of Regiment 38, Division 2 would help rebuild her house, she was moved to tears. “I was deeply touched when the soldiers came to help rebuild my house. They worked day and night, regardless of sun or rain, and on some days they even worked late into the night. People in Tan Binh hamlet all love and appreciate the soldiers,” she said.

Officers and soldiers of Division 2 help people in Dak Lak province rebuild their houses. |
According to Second-in-Command and Chief of Staff of Division 2 Colonel Nguyen Long Vong, building houses for people in flood-hit areas is a particularly important political task, demonstrating the responsibility and sentiments of military troops toward local residents. Therefore, the Party Committee and Chain-of-Command of Division 2 have mobilized more than 1,000 officers, soldiers, and vehicles to take part in the “Quang Trung Campaign.”
Despite challenges, such as continuous rain, and the area the Division is responsible for is very large, including 6 eastern communes of Dak Lak province, and not convenient for transporting materials, significantly affecting construction progress, the unit has maximized all available resources, manpower, and transport means. Troops have worked day and night without rest, even during the recent New Year 2026 holiday, to ensure the progress of the construction. Apart from the aforementioned houses, the unit is trying to finish and hand over 55 other houses to local residents before January 12.

Soldiers of Regiment 1 of Division 2 assist local residents in rebuilding houses. |
Officer Vong added that all houses supported by Division 2 in construction and repair strictly follow design standards, feature solid structures, are adapted to flood conditions, and are suitable to the culture, customs, and living habits of local people. Each completed house not only brings the joy of stable living to residents, but also embodies the military-civilian bond and the division’s rich traditions.
