Houses handed over to border people in Long An province
PANO - The Long An provincial Military Command and the Ho Chi Minh City Military Command, on December 8, co-held an inauguration ceremony to hand over ten houses to families in residential quarters near border militia posts in Binh Hiep commune, Kien Tuong town, Long An province.
The houses, with the areas of between 60sq.m and 140sq.m, were built at the total cost of VND 1.7 billion.
The construction of these houses and other facilities in the residential quarters in Binh Hiep commune were completed thanks to financial support from Thai Son Corporation under the Ministry of National Defense and other units, enterprises and sponsors.
Particularly, Thai Son Corporation allocated funds to build five of the houses.
In addition, the local authorities also handed over from 3,000sq.m to 100,000sq.m of farmland to local people in border areas to help them develop their household economy and stabilize their lives.
On the occasion, the HCM City Military Command provided these families with ten breeding cows, ten sets of tables and chairs and other necessary equipment, including televisions, electric fans and rice cookers. It also gave 50 gifts to disadvantaged households and policy families in Binh Hiep commune.
