Close coordination

With the love for national sea and islands, the Health Ministry has directed such central hospitals as National Hospital of Endocrinology, Bach Mai Hospital, National Hospital of Acupuncture, and Viet Duc (Vietnam - Germany) Friendship Hospital to provide health examination, consultation, and treatment for troops of Naval Region 4. The hospitals have also given health equipment to and provided training for Naval Region 4’s medical personnel.

Party Secretary and Political Commissar of Naval Region 4 Rear Admiral Ngo Van Thuan said that the practical deeds of central hospitals have been a great source of encouragement for and helped troops of Naval Region 4 stay healthy to successfully conduct the mission of safeguarding national sovereignty over sea and islands. The signing of the coordination program between Naval Region 4 and the Trade Union of the Health Ministry was part of the efforts to strengthen the good relationship between the two sides.

According to the agreement, the two sides will work together to disseminate sea and islands-related information, the outcomes of protecting national sovereignty over sea and islands, the implementation of the Party’s guidelines and State’s policies and laws on national sea and islands. They will organize exchanges and twinning activities between their affiliated agencies and units and provide health examination for naval troops and their families.

The two sides will also conduct policy and mass mobilization work and send delegations to visit and encourage troops and people in Truong Sa island district of Khanh Hoa province and DK1 platforms.

President of the Trade Union of the Health Ministry Pham Thanh Binh said that the signing of the coordination agreement demonstrated the Health Ministry’s commitment to carrying out the Prime Minister’s Decision 658/QĐ-TTg on approving the program on healthcare development in sea areas and island districts through to 2030 and the two sides’ close coordination in actualizing the resolution on the strategy on sustainable marine economic development to 2030 with the vision to 2045.

He promised to closely cooperate with the Naval Region 4 Command to conduct coordination activities for national sea and islands.

Practical deeds   

In actualizing the signed agreement, right after the signing ceremony, Naval Region 4 and the Trade Union of the Health Ministry of Vietnam provided reproductive health examination for 500 women whose relatives are naval troops.

During the event, naval troops’ female relatives living in the Residential Area of Cam Ranh Military Base had their health checked and received health consultation from experienced doctors from the Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital.

According to Doctor Xa Thi Minh Hoa from the Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, apart from sending experienced doctors and technicians, the hospital prepared modern medical equipment and a large amount of medicines for the event. She added that taking care of naval troops’ families demonstrated medical staff’s gratitude to naval troops and sharing of their relatives’ difficulties, thus helping them feel secure to carry out the mission of safeguarding national sovereignty over sea and islands.

On the occasion, participating units presented gifts, worth VND 263 million in total, to naval troops’ relatives in the Residential Area of Cam Ranh Military Base. Notably, Deloitte Vietnam Company donated VND 300 million to build the Truong Sa Library to create a reading space for island children. 

The practical deeds of health workers have left good impression on troops’ relatives, serving as a source of encouragement for troops of Naval Region 4 to strive to successfully complete assigned missions to firmly safeguard national sovereignty over sea and islands.
