Major General Ho Van Thai, Political Commissar of Military Region 9 chaired a ceremony to offer incense and flowers in tribute to heroes, martyrs at a monument dedicated to them, and at the Victory Monument, and to pay homage to President Ho Chi Minh at his memorial house.

At the ceremony, the officers and soldiers of Military Region 9 observed a minute of silence in commemoration of fallen troops, and Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong who devoted his whole life to the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party and nation.

* Lt. Gen. Nguyen Van Bong, Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of the Naval Service, visited and presented gifts to the family of Hero of the People’s Armed Force, martyr Dong Quoc Binh in Dai Hop commune, Kien Thuy district, Hai Phong city. The martyr is worshipped by the family of his elder brother Dong Minh Chinh, aged 94.

* The General Department of Technical Services (GDT) held a program to provide free health check-ups and medicines to over 550 people in Hat Mon commune, Phuc Tho district, Hanoi. It also presented 68 gifts to local policy beneficiaries, handed over a great unity house to the family of Phung Thi Huong in the commune. A GDT delegation offered incense at Hat Mon commune War Cemetery.

* Defense-Economic Unit 337 of Military Region 4 and Quang Tri province’s Huong Hoa district authorities held a memorial and burial service for 12 martyrs whose remains were collected from May 29 to July 25 this year in Village 3B, Khe Sanh township, and Ta Rung village, Huc commune, Huong Hoa district. The remains found 1m underground with many belongings.

* A delegation from Naval Region 5, led by Political Commissar Rear Admiral Nguyen Huu Thoan, offered incense and flowers at Nam Dam Monument and visited and presented gifts to local martyrs’ families, wounded and sick soldiers, policy beneficiaries, national contributors in Phu Quoc city, Kien Giang province.

* A mission from the Long An provincial Military Command visited and presented gifts to Hero of the People’s Armed Forces Nguyen Van Minh in Vinh Hung townlet, Vinh Hung district, Long An province and paid tribute to fallen troops at Long Khot Martyrs’ Temple and the provincial War Cemetery.
