Gratitude activities held to mark Wounded Soldiers and Martyrs’ Day
PANO – On the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the Wounded Soldiers and Martyrs’ Day (July 27, 1947 - 2024), on July 14, a delegation of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, led by Deputy Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Nguyen Doan Anh, visited and offered incense to late General Vo Nguyen Giap in Vung Chua - Dao Yen (Swallow Island), Quang Dong commune, Quang Trach district, Quang Binh province.
In a solemn atmosphere, Gen. Anh and delegates paid deep tribute to General Vo Nguyen Giap for his contribution to the revolutionary cause of the Party, the cause of national construction and protection, and the building of the Vietnam People’s Army.

The delegation pledged to try their best during task performance, contributing to building a regular, elite, and gradually-modernized military.
* On the same day, the Department of Foreign Relations under the Ministry of National Defense, together with the Gia Vien district People’s Committee, Ninh Binh province, organized a ceremony to inaugurate and hand over a gratitude house to Pham Thi Be, wife of war martyr Dinh Van Dien, who laid down his life during the national resistance war against the U.S. invaders, in Gia Hung commune.

The 65sq.m house was built at a total cost of more than VND 200 million, of which the Department of Foreign Relations supported VND 80 million. After five months, the construction was completed as scheduled with good quality.
Addressing the event, Deputy Director of the department Major General Bui Trong Hieu thanked local authorities for coordinating with the unit to build the house for the recipient.
During the handover ceremony, Be thanked the unit and local authorities for supporting her family to have a new house.
On the occasion, the unit and local authorities presented meaningful gifts to her family.
