Ship SAR-413 (R) tow trawler BTh99987-TS to shore
The fishing boat went adrift after developing engine failure in bad weather while fishing in waters off Con Dao Island, around 81 nautical miles from the Vung Tau coast (Ba Ria-Vung Tau province).
The fishermen had to send a mayday signal as the problem could not be fixed while they also ran out of food and fresh water.
Upon receiving the news, the Vietnam MRCC immediately sent ship SAR-413 to approach the troubled trawler, fix the engine problem and give necessary supplies to the fishermen. On October 30, they safely returned to the mainland.
