Defense Ministry assists victims of fire in Hanoi's apartment block
PANO – On September 14, a delegation from the Ministry of National Defense, led by Lt. Gen. Le Quang Minh, Deputy Director of the General Department of Political Affairs of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA), visited and offered sympathy to the victims of an apartment block fire on Khuong Ha Street, Khuong Dinh ward, Thanh Xuan district, Hanoi.
Meeting with the relatives of the deceased victims of the fire, Lt. Gen. Le Quang Minh shared their grief and loss, offered words of comfort, and expressed the hope that the affected families would soon overcome difficulties to regain stability in their lives.

During the visit to military personnel and their families receiving treatment at Ha Dong General Hospital and Bach Mai Hospital, the Deputy Director of the VPA's General Department of Political Affairs encouraged them, expressing his hope that the victims would soon make both physical and psychological recovery.
Lt. Gen. Le Quang Minh also expressed his gratitude to the medical personnel who had been diligent and swift in treating the patients in recent days.
He recommended that the relevant agencies and units where the military personnel are stationed continue to provide support to ensure the best care for the victims and assist them when returning to work. On this occasion, the Defense Trade Union Board, the Military Women Advisory Board, and various agencies and units also offered gifts to military personnel affected by the accident.
Previously, on the night of September 12, a fierce fire occurred in a small apartment block on Khuong Ha street, Khuong Dinh ward, Thanh Xuan district, Hanoi, resulting in severe human and property losses for approximately 45 households and students residing there. Among the victims were military personnel and their families.
