In Cu Lao Cham, divers checked the ship and discovered the damage on the lower part of the ship’s two compartments and its prow. Immediately, Cu Lao Cham Border Post reported to Cu Lao Cham Marine Protected Area and facilitated local divers to do the repairing.
Viet Phu 16 Cargo Ship with ten sailors on board and Dang Van Cuong, a local in Thanh Hoa province, at the helm was transporting 2,329.65 tons of cements.
In addition, as the ship has 5,000 litters of oil left, the Quang Nam provincial Border Guard Command sent 15 troops and two ships of Flotilla 2 to work with Cu Lao Cam Border Post to support the cargo and respond to possible oil leak.
