Coast guards implement mobilization work
PANO – The Youth Union of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command, in coordination with the Duong To commune Youth Union, implemented the “For Phu Quoc Environment Day” program on July 4.
On this occasion, youths, together with relevant forces and local people, cleaned up the environment, collected more than two tons of waste, cleared a 3km road and planted 600 flower trees along a 2.7km road in the commune.
In addition, the unit disseminated information about environmental protection to the locals.

The program aimed to raise youths’ and locals’ awareness of and responsibility for environmental and island protection for a green Phu Quoc city.
* On the same day, the Coast Guard Region 2 Command, in coordination with the Quang Ngai provincial Party Committee's Commission for Mass Mobilization, visited and presented gifts to ethnic minority people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in Tra Bong mountainous district .

On this occasion, the delegation handed over 200 gifts, worth 200 million VND in total, to needy households. Meanwhile, they also distributed leaflets and disseminated information about COVID-19 prevention and control to local people in Tra Thuy and Son Tra communes (Tra Bong district).
The activity is part of a program themed “Coast Guards Stand Side by Side with Ethnic Minority People and Religious Followers”, which has been implemented for many years nationwide by the Vietnam Coast Guard, hoping that it would encourage needy people to overcome difficulties caused by the pandemic.
