Coast guards accompany fishermen and religious followers in Da Nang
PANO - The Coast Guard Region 2 Command, in collaboration with the Da Nang municipal Party Committee’s Mass Mobilization Commission, held the “Coast guards stand by fishermen” and “Coast guards stand by ethnic minority people and religious followers” mass mobilization activities in six districts of Da Nang city on June 22.
During the program, the organizing panel visited and presented 120 gifts, national flags, and portraits of President Ho Chi Minh to fishermen in Thanh Khe, Lien Chieu, Son Tra, Ngu Hanh Son, and Hai Chau districts and needy ethnic minority people in Ha Bac commune of Hoa Vang district; handed scholarships to needy students with good academic results; disseminated national sea and islands-related information and regulations on illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing prevention; conducted environmental protection activities; held cultural exchanges with local authorities and people in Da Nang city.
According to Political Commissar of the Coast Guard Region 2 Command Senior Colonel Le Huy Sinh, this practical activities held humane significance. They aimed to raise fishermen and locals’ legal awareness of and their understanding about the missions of the coast guard force; materially and spiritually support fishermen to help them feel secure to fish at sea, contributing to economic development and the protection of sovereignty over the national sea and islands.
