On October 18, Lieutenant General Ngo Minh Tien, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army and deputy head of the MND’s Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control in Ho Chi Minh City and Southern provinces, handed over the gifts to the recipients.

The gift consisted of 2,000 instant noodles, five tons of dry provision, three tons of canned meat, and 10,000 medical face-masks.

Addressing the event, General Tien shared COVID-19-caused difficulties with local authorities and people. He emphasized that the military always stands side by side with authorities and people of localities nationwide in the fight against the pandemic so that they could come back to new normal life at the soonest.

On behalf of the local authorities, a representative of Chau Thanh district thanked the CMC and MND for their thoughtfulness and sharing of difficulties over the past time. He promised that the gifts will reach the hands of the recipients early to help them surmount difficulties and stabilize their life in the new normal status.
