Speaking at the event, the GDP’s deputy chief affirmed that the Vietnam People’s Army has effectively implemented resolutions, action programs, and patriotic emulation movements, especially campaigns launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front such as “All people unite to build new-style rural areas and civilized cities” and the “For the Poor” campaign.

Over the years, the military has closely coordinated with local Party committees, authorities, Fatherland Front, and mass organizations to mobilize people to follow the Party’s guidelines and the State’s policies and laws, participate in socio-economic development, promote sustainable poverty reduction, and build new-style rural areas. The force has also played a key role in disaster prevention, epidemic control, and search and rescue operations.

He emphasized that implementing the Party’s guidelines and State’s policies on sustainable poverty reduction and elimination of temporary and dilapidated housing, the emulation movement titled “The military joins hands for the poor, leaving no one behind,” and support to people affected by natural disasters, the military has mobilized over VND 2 trillion for social policy activities, supported the construction and repair of more than 18,000 houses, contributed VND 10 billion to assist people affected by storms No. 10 and No. 11, and donated over VND 33 billion to help the people of Cuba.

In addition to mobilizing resources, agencies and units have provided essential goods and necessities for people in disaster-affected areas, reflecting the military’s strong sense of responsibility and solidarity with the people.
