Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer in women and is the most common cancer in developing countries. It is estimated that 529,828 new patients are diagnosed with cervical cancer and 275,128 women die from the cancer each year. Currently, the screening for cervical cancer in Vietnam has yet to be widely conducted, especially in remote and border areas and on islands while health insurance does not cover the screening. It has created a major obstacle to early detection and treatment of cervical cancer.

At the signing ceremony

To improve the quality of women's health care, the PAN and VIET HAN CO., LTD. signed a MoU on handing over to a selected military hospital a Max-Prep Pap’s Test Processor, worth VND 1.8 billion, including free kits for cervical cancer screening tests with a five-year warranty and training courses for the hospital’s medical staff.

Both sides also agreed that after receiving the system, the PAN will present to a military hospital which meets all the set requirements and ensures the best use of the system, thereby helping military and civilian women access the most advanced and modern system for cervical cancer screening in the world.

Addressing the event, Major General Pham Van Huan, PAN's Editor-in-Chief, expressed his deep thank to the sponsor, and highly appreciated good results of the cooperation between the two sides over the past years.

Earlier in April 2019, the PAN handed over a Max-Prep Pap’s Test Processor to Hung Yen provincial General Hospital.

Gen. Huan hoped that the two sides would continue to have more cooperation activities in the coming time.
