Ca Mau fisherman saved at sea
PANO – Ship SAR 413 of the Vietnam Maritime Rescue Coordination Center, in collaboration with the Ba Ria – Vung Tau provincial Border Guard Command, successfully saved a trouble fisherman on October 9.
Earlier, fisherman Nguyen Van Den on trawler BL 92511 TS had an accident while fishing about 70 nautical miles off the Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago.

By accident, he was twisted by cables and his two legs were cut off by them causing much bleeding. Immediately, the trawler’s captain sent an SOS signal to the center.
After receiving the information, the center sent ship SAR 413 with a medical team from the Ba Ria - Vung Tau provincial Border Guard Command, to the scene. The ship approached the trawler and the doctors gave the patient first aid.
At 11:00 on the same day, ship SAR 413 took the patient ashore and handed over him to the Ba Ria - Vung Tau provincial Border Guard Command.
The poor fisherman was then promptly taken to the hospital for further treatment.
