Border troops help people cope with coastal erosion
PANO - The Border Station of Thanh Hai and Squadron 2 under the Binh Thuan provincial Border Guard Command on April 4 coordinated with local authorities and people to prevent and control coastal erosion at quarter B, Thanh Hai ward, Phan Thiet city, Binh Thuan province.

Accordingly, due to the impact of monsoon-induced surge combined with high tides, the coastline of quarter B, Thanh Hai ward, Phan Thiet city has been severely eroded, threatening the lives and property of local people.
Knowing this situation, leaders of the two units mobilized 20 officers and soldiers to the scene.
The troops closely worked with local authorities and relevant forces to make sandbags to reinforce the sea dyke, the broken parts, and high-risk areas for erosion in the locality.
Additionally, the border troops disseminated information about the danger of coastal erosion among local people in the area, encouraging them not to stay indoors at night to minimize the loss of lives.
