During the event, many meaningful activities were held, such as an art show, “chung” cake wrapping for poor households, a “Zero dong” stall for people to choose the necessities to prepare for Tet, free medical examination for ethnic minority people, among others.

In the framework of the program, the Lai Chau provincial Border Guard Command and its Si Lo Lau Border Post presented gifts to the local people, totally worth VND 25 million.

Meanwhile, the provincial Women Association and Red Cross Society, and other local authorities, handed over more than 70 gifts, worth VND 300,000 each, to needy women, students and households.

According to Colonel Nguyen Van Hung, Political Commissar of the Lai Chau provincial Border Guard Command, in preparation for the 2023 Tet holiday, the unit has built a plan to direct its border posts to carry out many activities to take care of ethnic minorities in border areas.

The program is held annually in the province so as to bring a happy Tet to ethnic minority groups, while ensuring local political security and social order in border areas, thereby tightening the civilian-military ties.
